I have questions
What is a $500 website?
Exactly what the name suggests. It’s a full-featured website, designed by a real person, for the astronomically low price of $500.
Who are you?
My name is Dan, and I’ve been building websites for 15+ years. You can see some of my design work (including branding and all sorts of stuff) on my portfolio site.
What do I get?
- Domain name.
- Hosting for 3 years (unless using the Wix/Squarespace option).
- 5 website pages.
- All standard features (blog, galleries, SSL certificate,)
How much does it cost?
$500. No multiple tiers, no complicated feature lists, no hidden fees, no upsells. This is the most affordable way to have a website in the year 2026.
What about Wix or Squarespace?
Sure, your website can use one of these platforms if you prefer. The other option is WordPress, an industry-leading software that powers about 45% of all websites on the Internet (inlcuding this one).
Is this a one-time fee, or recurring?
The $500 is a one time thing. Having a website, however, costs money on an ongoing basis. You’re either paying Wix or Squarespace about $20-$50 per month, or you’re paying a hosting provider $5-$20 per month to host your website (and domain).
Can’t I just build it myself?
Sure – feel free. It might not work as well, or look as good, or do what you need it to do, but you can certainly give it a shot. You can build your own website the same way you can do your own plumbing – sure, it’s possible if you have time and skill and patience and money to burn. But you should probably just get a pro to do it.
Who is this for?
Anyone who needs a website. Your mom, your dog, your weird uncle, your best friend with the business idea etc. Website for the masses.
- Small businesses (plumbers, realtors etc)
- Cafe or restaurant
- Online store
- Portfolio
- Personal website (blog)
